National Action Party
The National Action Party (PAN) is a political organization in Mexico that advocates for free-market policies, democracy, and social development. Founded in 1939, it generally promotes economic growth, private enterprise, and individual freedoms. PAN has been one of Mexico’s major political parties, competing with others like the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). It has held the presidency, most notably with Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón. Overall, PAN supports policies aimed at modernizing Mexico’s economy while upholding democratic principles and governance.
