National Aboriginal and Islanders Observance Committee (NAIDOC)

The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Observance Committee (NAIDOC) is a group that supports and promotes awareness of the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia. NAIDOC oversees activities and events during NAIDOC Week, an annual celebration held nationwide in July to honor Indigenous Australians’ contributions, traditions, and resilience. The committee works to foster understanding, respect, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, encouraging community participation and recognition of Indigenous identities and rights.
