NASA's Voyager Program
NASA’s Voyager Program launched two spacecraft, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, in 1977 to explore the outer planets and their moons. They provided detailed images and data on Jupiter, Saturn, and their rings and moons. After completing their planetary missions, both spacecraft continued traveling outward into interstellar space, becoming the first human-made objects to do so. They carry instruments to study cosmic rays, magnetic fields, and the conditions beyond our solar system. Despite their age, they still send valuable information back to Earth, helping scientists understand the environment beyond our solar neighborhood.
