NASA's Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) is a program that sends astronauts to live and work underwater in a special habitat called the Aquarius Reef Base. These missions simulate space conditions, such as gravity, isolation, and teamwork, helping scientists and engineers test new technology and train for future space explorations, like missions to the Moon and Mars. Conducted in the clear, pressurized waters off Florida, NEEMO provides a safe and controlled environment to study how humans adapt to extreme conditions beyond Earth.
