Narrowboating

Narrowboating is the activity of traveling and living aboard a narrow canal boat, typically along historic inland waterways known as the UK’s “narrow canals.” These boats are designed to be slender, usually no more than 7 feet wide, to navigate the narrow, often winding locks and tunnels of the canal network. People enjoy narrowboating for leisurely exploration, relaxation, and experiencing a unique way of life connected to waterways, nature, and history. It combines leisure travel with a sense of independence as boaters control their pace and route, often staying in marinas or mooring along the canal for extended periods.
