Naram-Sin
Naram-Sin was a ruler of the Akkadian Empire, which existed in ancient Mesopotamia around 2254–2218 BCE. He was the grandson of Sargon of Akkad, who founded the empire. Naram-Sin is known for expanding the empire’s territory and promoting trade, but he is perhaps most famous for his military conquests and his divine status, as he depicted himself as a god-king in art and monuments. The most notable artifact related to him is the victory stele, which celebrates his triumph over enemies and showcases his authority and divine favor. His reign marked a significant period in early Mesopotamian history.
