Naphthylamines
Naphthylamines are chemical compounds derived from naphthalene, a simple polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made of two fused benzene rings. These compounds contain an amine group (-NHâ‚‚) attached to the naphthalene structure, resulting in substances used mainly in dye manufacturing and chemical synthesis. While useful industry-wise, some naphthylamines are known to be hazardous because they can cause health problems, including cancer, if inhaled or improperly handled. Due to these risks, their use has been regulated or restricted in many countries to ensure safety for workers and consumers.
