Nammalvar

Nammalvar was a revered Tamil poet, saint, and philosopher of the Tamil Bhakti movement, living in South India from the 15th to 16th century. He expressed deep devotion to Lord Vishnu through poetic hymns that explore themes of love, spirituality, and the nature of the divine. His work is part of the sacred Tamil text called the Divya Prabandham, which is highly regarded in Vaishnavism. Nammalvar’s teachings emphasize surrender, humility, and the personal relationship between devotee and God, inspiring generations of followers and enriching Indian spiritual literature.
