Namdhari
Namdhari, also known as the Namdharis or Kuka sect, is a religious movement within Sikhism that emphasizes a strict adherence to the teachings of Sikh gurus and the importance of spiritual practice. Founded in the 19th century by Baba Ram Singh, Namdharis advocate for social reform, equality, and a return to the original Sikh values. They are known for their distinct practices, including wearing white attire and a focus on meditation and the chanting of God’s name (Naam). Namdharis also reject certain modern Sikh customs, seeking to preserve what they consider the true essence of Sikhism.
