Kibera is a large informal settlement in Nairobi, Kenya, often referred to as one of Africa’s biggest slums. Despite facing challenges like poverty, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to services, Kibera is a vibrant community with resilient residents working to improve their lives. It covers about 2 square kilometers and hosts hundreds of thousands of people living in tightly packed, makeshift homes. Efforts are ongoing from NGOs and local groups to enhance sanitation, education, and healthcare, highlighting both the hardships and the strength of the community.
