Naga National Council
The Naga National Council (NNC) was an organization formed in the 1940s to represent Naga people's political interests in Northeast India. It sought to assert Naga identity, rights, and independence, resisting Indian integration efforts. The NNC aimed for Naga self-governance and opposed Indian rule, often advocating for independence or greater autonomy. Over time, internal disagreements and government pressures led to its decline, and it was eventually replaced by other movements and organizations advocating for Naga rights. The NNC played a significant role in shaping Naga political aspirations and the region's complex quest for self-determination.
