Naïve realism (theory)
Naïve realism is the belief that the world is exactly as we perceive it through our senses—that our experiences directly reflect objective reality. In other words, it assumes that what we see, hear, or feel is an accurate and complete picture of the world, and that others would perceive it the same way. This perspective overlooks the ways our perceptions can be influenced by individual differences, biases, and limitations of our senses. While it’s intuitive, naïve realism can lead to misconceptions, as our subjective experiences may not fully or accurately represent the true nature of reality.
