N1 rocket
The N1 rocket was a Soviet-designed launch vehicle developed in the 1960s and early 1970s to carry crews and equipment to the Moon. It was a huge, multi-stage rocket with five main boosters and powerful engines, intended to compete with the American Apollo program. Despite its ambitious design, the N1 faced technical problems and failed in all four test flights, preventing it from ever reaching space or the Moon. Its development was critical in shaping Soviet space efforts, but ultimately, it was replaced by other designs in their lunar ambitions.
