Néel temperature

The Néel temperature is a specific point where certain magnetic materials change their magnetic behavior. Below this temperature, these materials become antiferromagnetic, meaning their atomic magnetic moments align in opposite directions, canceling each other out and resulting in no overall magnetization. Above the Néel temperature, this orderly arrangement breaks down, and the material loses its antiferromagnetic properties, often becoming paramagnetic, where external magnetic fields can temporarily induce magnetization. This temperature varies for different materials and helps scientists understand and control magnetic properties in various technological applications.
