Mystery involves stories centered on uncovering unknown facts, solving puzzles, or discovering hidden truths, often engaging readers with suspicion, clues, and deduction. Horror aims to evoke fear, dread, or unease by exploring themes of mortality, the supernatural, or the unknown, often creating intense emotional responses. While mystery focuses on intellectual engagement through investigation, horror aims to provoke visceral reactions by confronting frightening or unsettling elements. Both genres play with suspense and uncertainty but differ in intent: mystery seeks resolution and understanding, whereas horror seeks to evoke emotional fear and tension.
