
Mykhailo Hrushevskyi
Mykhailo Hrushevskyi was a prominent Ukrainian historian, scholar, and political leader born in 1866. He is best known for his work in shaping Ukrainian national identity through extensive research on Ukraine’s history and culture. As a historian, he founded the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences and authored comprehensive histories of Ukraine. Politically, he served as the first President of the Ukrainian People's Republic in 1917-1918, advocating for independence during a turbulent time for Ukraine. His contributions helped establish Ukraine’s historical narrative and fostered its national consciousness.
