Muslim Division

The Muslim division refers to the main branches within Islam, primarily Sunni and Shia. Sunnis, making up about 85-90%, believe leaders should be chosen based on consensus or appointment after Prophet Muhammad’s death. Shia Muslims, about 10-15%, hold that leadership should stay within Muhammad’s family, specifically through his descendants. These differences stem from historical disagreements over rightful leadership and theological practices. Despite their differences, both groups share core beliefs in God's oneness, the Quran, and Prophet Muhammad’s teachings. The division reflects diverse interpretations and historical developments rather than fundamental differences in faith.
