Muslim Confederacy
The Muslim Confederacy was a political alliance formed in 1919 by Muslim leaders in British India, aiming to protect the political and religious rights of Muslims. It sought to organize Muslims as a united community, advocating for their interests within the broader Indian independence movement. The Confederacy emphasized safeguarding Islamic culture, education, and political representation amid growing tensions with Hindus and colonial authorities. Although it was relatively short-lived, it laid groundwork for later Muslim political organizations and the eventual demand for a separate Muslim state, which contributed to the establishment of Pakistan in 1947.
