Musashibō Benkei was a legendary Japanese monk and warrior from the late 12th century, renowned for his strength, loyalty, and martial prowess. Originally a traveling performer, he became a devoted follower of the famous samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Benkei is celebrated for his heroic acts, such as defending his lord in battles and his famous confrontation with the warrior Ushiwakamaru (Yoshitsune) at Gojo Bridge.
