Murder Inc.
Murder Inc. was a notorious organized crime group in the 1930s and 1940s, operating primarily in New York City. It functioned as an enforcement arm for the Jewish and Italian-American mafias, carrying out contract killings, threats, and intimidation to enforce the gangs' interests. Led by figures like Louis “Lepke” Buchalter, Murder Inc. became infamous for its brutal methods and efficiency. Law enforcement eventually dismantled the organization through investigations and trials, leading to the imprisonment or execution of many of its members, marking a significant crackdown on organized crime in America.
