Multivoxel Pattern Analysis

Multivoxel Pattern Analysis (MVPA) is a technique used in brain imaging to examine patterns of activity across multiple tiny brain regions (voxels) simultaneously. Instead of just measuring how active one area is, MVPA looks at the overall pattern of activity to understand what kind of information or thought process might be present. For example, different images or words can produce distinct activity patterns. By analyzing these patterns, researchers can decode what a person is seeing, thinking, or experiencing with greater detail and accuracy than traditional methods that focus on individual regions alone.
