Multisystemic Therapy (MST)

Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an evidence-based, intensive treatment designed for young people with serious behavioral issues. It involves a team of trained therapists working with the youth and their family, and sometimes their community, to address problems like aggression, delinquency, or substance abuse. The approach targets multiple factors influencing behavior, such as family dynamics, peer relationships, school environment, and community influences. MST aims to improve behavior by strengthening positive relationships, developing skills, and creating supportive environments, usually through frequent, personalized sessions. It is proven effective in helping youth make lasting positive changes and avoid more restrictive interventions like detention.
