Multistore model
The Multi-Store Model of memory explains how we process and store information in three different stages. First is the sensory memory, which briefly holds sensory input from our environment. Next is short-term memory, where information is temporarily stored and actively used, like remembering a phone number just long enough to dial it. Finally, information moves to long-term memory, which is for storing data more permanently. This model highlights that each stage has its own capacity and duration, and that effective transfer between stages depends on attention and rehearsal.
