Multiply

Multiplication is a mathematical operation that combines groups of equal size to find out how much in total there is. For example, if you have 4 boxes and each contains 3 apples, multiplying 4 by 3 tells you the total number of apples—12. It’s a shortcut for repeated addition. Instead of adding 3 + 3 + 3 + 3, you multiply 4 by 3. Think of multiplication as scaling a number by another, giving you a larger or smaller quantity depending on the numbers involved. It’s a fundamental way to efficiently calculate totals and compare quantities.
