Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2

Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2 (MEN 2) is a genetic condition that causes tumors in specific hormone-producing glands, particularly the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. There are two main forms: MEN 2A and MEN 2B, each associated with different types of tumors. People with MEN 2 are at increased risk of developing cancers, particularly medullary thyroid cancer. Due to its hereditary nature, family members may also be affected. Early detection and medical management, including regular screenings and surgeries, can significantly improve outcomes for individuals with this condition.
