Multinational Force in Lebanon
The Multinational Force in Lebanon was a group of international military units deployed in Lebanon from 1982 to 1984 to help stabilize the country during its civil war. Comprising mainly U.S., French, Italian, and British troops, their mission was to oversee the withdrawal of Israeli forces, assist in restoring order, and support the Lebanese government. The force aimed to reduce violence, protect civilians, and promote peace, but faced complex challenges, including attacks like the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing, which highlighted the dangers of peacekeeping in a volatile environment.
