Mulligan (golf term)
In golf, a Mulligan is an informal practice where a player is allowed to retake a shot without penalty, usually after a poor shot and often in casual play. It’s not officially recognized in formal competitions. The purpose is to maintain enjoyment and pace, allowing players to recover from mistakes and continue playing without frustration. Typically, Mulligans are agreed upon among players before the round and used sparingly. Although not part of official rules, they are a common way to ease the game and improve mood during friendly outings.
