Mulekites

The Mulekites refer to a group of ancient peoples described in the Book of Mormon, believed by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to have migrated from Jerusalem around 600 B.C. and settled in the Americas. Named after a leader named Mulek, they are thought to have interacted with other groups, such as the Jaredites and Nephites. While their existence and history are matters of religious belief, archeological and historical evidence outside the religious texts remains inconclusive. The Mulekites are significant within this religious tradition as part of its narrative of divine involvement in American history.
