Muixeranga

Muixeranga is a traditional Catalan cultural expression involving the construction of human towers and figures, often performed during festivals. Originating from the Valencian Community but also practiced in Catalonia, it combines dance, acrobatics, and teamwork. Participants, called “muixiquers,” form intricate, multi-layered structures that require strength, balance, and coordination. These performances symbolize community unity, heritage, and collective effort, often accompanied by music and singing. Muixeranga preserves cultural traditions while showcasing human skill and cooperation, creating visually impressive displays that celebrate local identity and cultural pride.
