Muharram
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar, considered one of the holiest months for Muslims. It marks the beginning of the new Islamic year and is a time for reflection, prayer, and historical remembrance. The tenth day, known as Ashura, is particularly significant; for Sunni Muslims, it commemorates the day Noah's ark rested on Mount Ararat and Moses' victory over Pharaoh. Shia Muslims remember the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, a grandson of Prophet Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala, emphasizing themes of justice and sacrifice. Muharram fosters spiritual renewal and reinforces core Islamic values.
