MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit)
MTU, or Maximum Transmission Unit, refers to the largest size of a single packet of data that can be sent over a network without needing to be broken into smaller pieces. Think of it like a delivery truck: if the truck (packet) is too big for the road (network), it has to be unloaded and divided into smaller trucks. This can slow down data transfer and increase the time it takes for information to reach its destination. Optimizing the MTU can enhance network efficiency and performance.
