MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound
MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) is a non-invasive medical procedure that uses targeted ultrasound waves to treat certain conditions inside the body. The MRI provides real-time images to precisely locate the treatment area, while the ultrasound waves pass through the skin and tissues to focus on a specific spot, heating and destroying abnormal cells or tissues. This technique allows for accurate, drug-free treatment of conditions like essential tremor, tumors, orFibroids, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue and reducing recovery time.
