MRD

MRD, or Minimal Residual Disease, refers to the small number of cancer cells that may remain in the body after treatment, even when tests show no signs of active disease. Detecting MRD helps doctors evaluate how effective the treatment has been and whether there’s a risk of the cancer coming back. Advanced techniques can identify these tiny amounts of cancer cells, enabling more personalized and ongoing monitoring. Essentially, MRD provides a sensitive measure to assess the likelihood of remission sustained over time, guiding decisions for further therapy if needed.
