MPLS forwarding

MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) forwarding is a method used by networks to efficiently direct data. Instead of examining each destination address, MPLS assigns short labels to data packets. These labels quickly tell the network how to route the packet along predefined paths, called Label Switched Paths (LSPs). This process speeds up forwarding, reduces complexity, and allows for better traffic management. Think of it like attaching a courier tag to a package that indicates the route, rather than reading the full address each time, ensuring faster and more reliable delivery in the network.
