Mozilla Persona
Mozilla Persona was a login system designed to simplify online authentication. It allowed users to sign into websites using a single, secure online identity without creating multiple passwords. Instead of managing numerous accounts, users verified their identity through their email address via Mozilla’s service. Websites benefited by reducing password-related security issues and improving user convenience. Launched in 2011, Persona aimed to enhance privacy and security by minimizing the amount of personal data shared and avoiding reliance on third-party login providers like Google or Facebook. The project was discontinued in 2016 due to limited adoption.
