Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA)

Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA) is a student-led organization that advocates for the rights, culture, and history of Chicano/Latino communities in the United States. Founded in 1967 during the Chicano Movement, it promotes awareness of social justice issues, bilingual education, and cultural pride. MEChA encourages students to recognize their heritage, challenge discrimination, and engage in community activism. While its primary focus is empowering Latino students and preserving Chicano identity, it also strives to foster unity and leadership among diverse student populations.
