Movimento Antropofágico
Movimento Antropofágico, or the Anthropophagic Movement, was a cultural and artistic movement in Brazil, originating in the early 20th century. It aimed to celebrate and redefine Brazilian identity by "digesting" and transforming European influences, rather than copying them. The movement used metaphorical "cannibalism" to symbolize embracing native culture, indigenous traditions, and local myths, contributing to a unique national expression. It was an act of cultural reclamation, promoting creativity rooted in Brazil's diverse heritage, and challenged colonial and Eurocentric perspectives in art, literature, and philosophy.
