Movable Do

Movable Do is a singing and music teaching concept where the note "Do" shifts depending on the key of the music. Instead of always being fixed to a specific pitch (like C in the fixed-do system), "Do" can be any pitch that serves as the tonic or starting note of a scale. For example, in a song in G major, G becomes "Do," and the other notes follow relative to this. This system helps singers understand and navigate different keys more intuitively, fostering a flexible ear and better pitch awareness across various musical contexts.
