Motion JPEG
Motion JPEG (MJPEG) is a video compression format that displays a sequence of still images (JPEG pictures) in rapid succession to create the appearance of motion. Each frame is compressed separately, similar to a series of photographs, making it simple to edit or process individual frames. This method offers high image quality and low latency, making it suitable for live video streaming, security cameras, and video conferencing. Unlike other formats that compress across frames to reduce file size further, MJPEG's approach results in larger files but maintains consistent image quality and easier editing.
