Morton Thiokol
Morton Thiokol was an American aerospace and defense company known for designing and manufacturing rocket propellant and related equipment. It played a key role in creating solid rocket boosters used in NASA's space shuttle program. Founded in 1929 and later merging with other companies, it contributed significantly to space exploration technology. In 1989, the company was renamed Morton International and later became part of other corporations. Morton Thiokol's work was critical in enabling spacecraft launches, though it also faced scrutiny after the Challenger disaster, which involved issues with its rocket boosters.
