Morton’s Neuroma Surgery (neurectomy)
Morton’s neuroma surgery, or neurectomy, involves removing the enlarged nerve tissue causing pain between the toes. This procedure is typically done to relieve symptoms like burning, numbness, or tingling caused by nerve irritation. During surgery, the surgeon makes a small incision on the top of the foot to access and remove the affected nerve segment. Recovery varies but often includes a period of reduced activity and footwear adjustments. The goal is to alleviate pain and restore comfortable foot function, with most patients experiencing significant improvement. However, like any surgery, there are risks, such as residual numbness or nerve irritation.
