Morgagni hernia

A Morgagni hernia is a rare type of congenital diaphragmatic hernia, meaning it’s a birth defect where abdominal organs push into the chest cavity through a small opening in the diaphragm—a muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen. Specifically, it occurs near the front and center of the diaphragm. This can sometimes cause no symptoms, but if the organs, like intestines or fat, press on the lungs or heart, it may lead to breathing difficulties, chest pain, or digestive issues. Surgical repair is often performed to correct the defect and prevent complications.
