Moraine
A moraine is an accumulation of rock and soil deposited by a glacier as it moves. Think of it as the glacier’s debris left behind or pushed aside during its journey. Moraines can form in various ways, such as at the glacier's edges or underneath it, creating ridges or mounds. These features provide valuable clues about past glacial activity and help scientists understand climate history. Essentially, moraines are natural records of a glacier’s path, composed of the materials it carried and deposited during its advance or retreat.
