Moore's Creek
Moore’s Creek, also known as the Battle of Moore’s Creek Bridge, was a significant Revolutionary War conflict in North Carolina on February 27, 1776. Colonial patriots, defending against Loyalists who supported British rule, attacked a Loyalist force attempting to seize the bridge. The patriots’ victory helped galvanize local support for independence and is viewed as a turning point in North Carolina’s push for independence from Britain. The battle demonstrated effective use of troop coordination and strategic positioning, contributing to the broader movement towards American independence.
