Moody Chart

The Moody Chart is a graphical tool used in fluid mechanics to determine how smoothly or turbulently a fluid flows through a pipe, and to calculate the pressure losses. It relates the flow characteristics, pipe roughness, and flow velocity to a dimensionless number called the Reynolds number. By using the chart, engineers can predict resistance and energy loss in piping systems, helping to design efficient pipelines. Essentially, it helps translate complex fluid behavior into an easy-to-use visual reference.
