The Montgolfier balloon demonstration, conducted in 1783 by Joseph and Jacques Montgolfier, was the first successful human-carrying flight using hot air. They built a large cloth balloon filled with heated air, which made the air inside less dense than the surrounding cooler air, creating lift.
