Montenegrin

Montenegrin is a South Slavic language spoken primarily in Montenegro, a country in southeastern Europe. It belongs to the same language group as Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian, sharing many similarities but also having its own distinct features, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Montenegrin uses both Latin and Cyrillic scripts and has its own standardized grammar and spelling. It plays a key role in national identity and cultural expression for Montenegrins. While mutually intelligible with neighboring languages, Montenegrin is recognized as an official language of Montenegro and reflects the country’s unique linguistic and cultural heritage.
