Monsoon winds
Monsoon winds are seasonal wind patterns that bring significant changes in weather, particularly in South Asia. During summer, the land heats up faster than the ocean, creating low pressure over the land. This draws in moist air from the ocean, resulting in heavy rainfall, known as the southwest monsoon. In winter, the process reverses; the land cools down quicker than the ocean, producing high pressure that pushes winds towards the sea, resulting in dry conditions. Monsoons are crucial for agriculture, replenishing water supplies and influencing the region's climate and ecosystems.
