Monsoon Precipitation

Monsoon precipitation refers to the seasonal heavy rainfall associated with monsoon winds, which are steady air currents that change direction with the seasons. During the summer, land heats up faster than the ocean, creating a low-pressure area that draws moist air from the sea. This moist air rises and cools, causing water vapor to condense into clouds and produce intense rainfall. In winter, the pattern reverses, bringing dry winds. Monsoon precipitation is vital for agriculture and water resources in affected regions, but it can also lead to flooding if the rain is excessive or prolonged.
