Monocular depth perception
Monocular depth perception refers to the ability to judge how far away objects are using just one eye. Although it might seem like two eyes are needed for depth, a single eye can still perceive depth through cues such as the size of objects, how they overlap (occlusion), the texture gradient, shadows, and the way objects appear sharper or blurrier at different distances. Our brain combines these visual cues to create a sense of three-dimensional space, helping us navigate and interact with our environment effectively even with just one eye.
